About us
St. Thomas’ Catholic International College, the first of its kind in Sri Lanka, is named after (late) Msgr. Thomas Cardinal Cooray, who performed the enormous task of uplifting the standard of Catholic education in Sri Lanka. It is also dedicated to Thomas the apostle who is the apostle of Asia. As another giant step taken by His Grace Most.Rev.Dr.Oswald Gomis (Archbishop Emeritus) to enhance the Catholic mission in the field of education in Sri Lanka the initial steps were taken as the foundation stone was laid to a primary building by Archbishop Emeritus, on the 7th of October, 2008 in the name of His Eminence Thomas Cardinal Cooray and St.Thomas the apostle the apostle of Asia. Very Rev.Fr.Ivan Perera had already made the preliminary plans which were concretized in these primary steps.
